For newcomers in the USA, the cost and distance to take a college class may be obstacles. LEE is a computer-based educational program designed primarily for English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction. The goal of LEE is to help adults with a moderate level of proficiency in English recognize the structural patterns of the English language and develop their writing skills at the sentence level. [+/-]
LEE consists of 22 units that cover a grammatical concept. Within each unit, you may look at an equivalent lesson in one of five topic areas. The structure of each lesson is the same.
The lessons include:
• a story that demonstrates the use of the concept
• a set of rules that explain it
• exercises for practice (with feedback)
